Activision and System 3 announced today that Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli has shipped and is now available for the PlayStation 3 and 2, along with the Nintendo Wii and DS.

Ferrari Challenge on PS3

“Creating Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli has been a labor of love. Our obsession with capturing the Ferrari mystique is something racing game fans and auto aficionados will savor,” said Mark Cale, CEO at System 3. “Activision is the best partner imaginable to distribute the game in North America, so we are in a fantastic position.”

“It’s been refreshing to be a part of a racing title that takes itself seriously,” said Dave Oxford, Activision Publishing. “Ferraris are elite performance machines and Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli simulates the exhilaration of driving them flawlessly.”

Activision claims the game is a "graphical beast" on the PS3, and we can't argue based on the screenshots we've seen (new ones here). More cut and dry facts about the game include 15 international racing circuits, multiple racing modes including a season and endurance mode, and online multiplayer for up to 16 players. DLC will also be released "continually" beginning in September.
